On-Site Vulcanising

On-Site Vulcanising

Vulcanising is the traditional method of forming a belt into an endless loop. Frequently this is done in the factory, but there are some situations where this is not possible, and on-site vulcanisation of the belt on the conveyor becomes the most viable option.

Vulcanisation is the prefered method of joining a belt in situations where metal or plastic belt fasteners cannot be used. For example, sand or light powders could get into a fastener, and rapidly erode it away.

In addition, a ready-made endless belt can be difficult to install, requiring extensive dismantling of the conveyor.

In these situations, on-site vulcanisation can be the most cost-effective solution. CCBA is able to provide an on-site vulcanising service for both rubber and PVC/PU belts throughout the Midlands, South Yorkshire, and the Glasgow area.
